About ME

I have always had a passion for music and want to inspire others to feel the same.  I started playing piano at an young age and after the introduction to the flute in elementary school and a few years later the oboe, I quickly expanded my musical world by playing with others in the band and orchestra.

Today, I play cello in the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra and play background piano music at various locations in Georgetown and Round Rock.

I have three young children who keep me on my toes and a fantastic husband who makes life fun.  In our free time, we can be seen biking the San Gabriel Trail with the kids in tow!

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is simple.  I want to instill a love of music in students of all ages.  It is important to me for students to understand the mechanics of music and the theory behind why and how music is created.  When this knowledge is obtained, the world of music really opens up for all to enjoy.  It is also important to be exposed to and appreciate all types of musical genres and to feel comfortable playing different styles.

Younger children have an innate love of music and feel no boundaries in expressing that love.  I enjoy introducing music to this age because creating music is so exciting to a young person!  If you can teach children from an early start to appreciate different types of music, the possibilities are endless!

My Classes

Private piano lessons are provided on a weekly basis for the duration of 30, 45 or 60 minutes for ages 5+, beginner to intermediate.  Lessons will not only cover the music being learned, but topics such as music theory, history, ear-training, composition, improvisation, technique, accompanying, ensemble music, and much more.  No lesson is ever the same!

Inspiring others with music is a passion for me, and it brings me joy to be able to share this passion with my students. From day one, students of all ages learn important foundational techniques to help them boost their skills and self-esteem. Everyone has a unique learning style, and it’s my duty to find out what that is and adapt my lessons accordingly. Please contact me today to learn how I can help you achieve your goals!
